Health Technology Wales researchers searched for evidence on the effectiveness of electronic prescribing and medicines administration systems for all secondary inpatient and outpatient secondary care settings, including paediatric services, and on the optimal design of electronic prescribing and medicines administration systems. HTW’s Assessment Group decided not to progress the topic due to the wide range of possible systems and limited evidence on direct patient outcomes.
