Health and Care Research Wales Evidence Centre publishes first annual report
The Health and Care Research Wales Evidence Centre has released its first Annual Report (2023-2024).
The report showcases the Evidence Centre’s rigorous, timely, and relevant research, which addresses evidence needs for the Welsh Government, the NHS, Social Care Wales, and other key stakeholders.
During the first year, the Evidence Centre received 145 questions from stakeholders, and 29 of these health and social care questions were accepted onto the Work Programme.
Through collaboration with five partners, of which we are one, 14 pieces of research are already available in the Centre’s Report Library.
During year 1, Health Technology Wales collaborated with the Evidence Centre on:
- Prognostic factors for a change in eye health or vision
- Measuring mental health in a cost-of-living crisis
Professor Adrian Edwards, Director of Health Care Research Wales Evidence Centre, said,
“I am delighted to share the Evidence Centre’s first annual report. During our first year, we examined research within key public health, social care, primary care, and well-being areas. Our findings have influenced and shaped several of the Welsh Government’s health policies and practices”.
Associate Director of the Evidence Centre, Dr Ruth Lewis, added:
“We take great pride in our collaborative partnerships and the impactful work achieved during the Evidence Centre’s first year. Over the next four years, we’ll continue working together to address a wide range of important issues for people in Wales, seeking to enhance the public’s health and experiences of using health and care services.”
