The 40-page report explores the areas we’ve worked on over the last year and reflects on our role as a national health technology assessment (HTA) organisation.
In the report, we highlight the ways we’re improving the quality of care in Wales, such as:
– Our response to COVID-19
– How we support the identification, appraisal and adoption of non-medicine health technologies
– Our collaboration and engagement with key stakeholders.
During 2020, we published seven pieces of HTW Guidance, bringing the total number of HTW Guidance to 17. We estimate that more than 137,000 people would benefit with full implementation of our Guidance to date and the potential for more than £5.7m in cost savings to NHS Wales. A number of case studies and features illustrate the real-life impact we’re making to health and social care, as well as the difference evidence-informed decision making has in ensuring safe, high-quality care.
