HTW joins international colleagues at INSIA membership meeting

We were delighted to take part in this year’s INISA (International Network for Social Intervention Assessment) membership meeting in Copenhagen in September.
This annual event – which this year was hosted by hosted by VIVE (The Danish Centre for Social Science Research) – provides a valuable opportunity for international colleagues to share knowledge on the assessment of social interventions.
At the event, our Health Services Researcher Dr Clare England, gave a presentation on the Health Technology Wales (HTW) AI transparency guidelines.
Presentations at this year’s meeting also focused on the theme of implementation of guidance, including implementation of complex interventions, family interventions, NICE guidance, and monitoring recommendations on children’s risk assessments.
Meanwhile the meeting included a working group session for INSIA’s AI subgroup which explored the process of developing a survey for INSIA member organisations regarding their approach to ethics and AI.
HTW Director Dr Susan Myles, was appointed to the board of directors of INSIA in 2023, reinforcing HTW’s commitment to the assessment of social intervention assessments. She said:
“We would like to thank our colleagues at INSIA for another thought-provoking membership meeting.
“Social intervention assessment is a rapidly evolving field, and it is really important that those at the forefront of this work share their knowledge on methods, lessons learnt and technological advancements.
“While member organisations serve very different populations, we experience common challenges and can all learn from each other.”
INSIA was established in 2021 to provide global leadership in the field of social intervention assessment and to support evidence-based social welfare decision making.
