Slot-scanning, biplanar X-ray imaging (EOS imaging systems) for spine and lower limb conditions and orthopaedic surgery

Topic Status Complete

Slot-scanning, biplanar X-ray imaging, such as EOS imaging systems, is a way of acquiring full body X-ray images using lower doses of radiation than conventional imaging.

Health Technology Wales researchers searched for evidence on the clinical and cost effectiveness of the EOS imaging system for musculoskeletal conditions of the spine and lower limbs and orthopaedic surgery. Based on the evidence identified, HTW’s Assessment Group concluded not to progress this topic to evidence appraisal.
