Gender affirming surgery for trans people
Summary
Gender affirming surgery (GAS), either chest or genital or both, is a treatment option for trans people. It aims to provide concordance between the individual’s gender identity and physical form. Health Technology Wales researchers searched for evidence on the clinical and cost-effectiveness of gender affirming surgery for trans people.
Based on the evidence identified and the wide range of potential procedures and interventions, HTW’s Assessment Group were unable to progress this topic to Evidence Appraisal as the scope was deemed too large
