Telemetric intracranial pressure monitoring

Summary

Historically, intracranial pressure monitoring (ICP) is measured invasively by a catheter is inserted into the brain. Telemetric ICP monitoring involves implanting a device, which transmits pressure values to an external reader. These devices may remain in situ to allow longer term ICP monitoring in an outpatient setting.

Health Technology Wales researchers searched for evidence on telemetric intracranial pressure monitoring for diagnosis and treatment optimisation of neurological conditions.
